A note about DeweyWriter.com
    The site was named after the author "Dewey". Its hallmark features were the "Brian and Pete" series and its spin-offs, including the highly popular web stories For the Love of Pete (FTOLP) and Brian’s Destruction.
    In late 2016, Dewey announced the closure of the website. During the shutdown, efforts were made by community moderators and webmasters from adjacent queer fiction archives (such as CRVBoy) to contact the site's contributing authors and preserve their stories by migrating them to alternative hosting platforms.
    Unfortunately, a lot of Dwayne's works got "lost in the shuffle." I have scowered the Internet and what I could find is presented here.

An Introduction by Dewey (Dwayne)
    Born and raised in southern Oregon, I joined the US Navy right out of high school to escape the red necks and poverty that awaited me should I have stayed. The six years I spent in the military did several things for me: it matured me from an inexperienced seventeen year old boy to a jaded twenty-four year old man; it provided me the training through which I now support myself and my family; and it perpetuated the emotional paralysis that had been unwittingly inflicted upon me by my parents. I married my wife shortly after my discharge, and our first child was born in 1999.
    While traveling for professional reasons, I was reading a story on line called A New Life. The story emotionally destroyed me and catapulted me into a sea of confusion and uncertainty. I started writing For the Love of Pete on that night, January 10, 2000. I sent that first effort to the author of A New Life, and he encouraged me to continue. The rest, as they say, is history.
    Now, at 33, I am still married with two beautiful children and continue to write as time allows. My wife and I work on our relationship every day, and though it isn't easy for either of us, the rewards are worth the effort we put in. Communication is the key to our relationship, as it is to any relationship, but communicating with yourself, learning who and what you are is the most important thing one can do.

How can you not want to read the next chapter? These two dudes are wide open. This is the second part of the story that began as "For the Love of Pete" and continues with a vengence. Follow along as our boys try to figure out life, deal with intense anger and take the road trip of road trips. My hat's off to Dewayne for an fantastic, emotional story that he has finally brought to an end after four years of writing.

    When I first started writing For the Love of Pete, it was the beginning of a journey of self-discovery. I realized that something was missing from my life in January of 2000. After an emotional collapse I began writing for the first time in my life. To me, the writing seemed awkward and sparse with little description, but friends encouraged me to continue. What seemed only a few weeks later, I had completed twenty-one chapters and had started Brian and Pete.
    Brian's Destruction is a cautionary tale. In it I explore what can happen if one allows his or herself to do noting more than swallow anger, or, more aptly, to live inside it. While Brian is an intelligent person, that intelligence is held at bay by the sheer magnitude of his rage. Brian represents so many of us. People who write to me invariably say that they can relate to Brian because of his anger. That is a frightening statement about today's society.

    We were born on April 22, 1985. My brother Michael Benjamin came out kicking and screaming and I, Benjamin Michael, came out four minutes later the color of the deep sea. My umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around my neck two times, but somehow the doctor managed to get it undone in time to save my life. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been better if he hadn't.
    Mom tells me I'm her miracle twin, or at least she used to. As I grew up, I had to go to the pediatrician constantly until I started school. The docs were sure that I had brain damage: there was no way I could have been that blue and avoided it. After a time, and after more tests than I care to remember, they decided I was fine.

    William had been with Mike and Monica Dupree for the last seven months. It looked, by all accounts, that it was a good match. They really loved each other. William's older foster brother, Shane, doted on the boy.
    I remember when I first brought William to their home. He was as nervous as they were. This was his fifth foster home in the last two years. William was a good boy for a thirteen year old. He had started to grow about a year earlier, so his mood swings put off a lot of foster families, but when the Dupree's came into the system, I took advantage of the fact they had their own teenager to deal with and placed William with them as soon as they were certified.

    Nick was hiding behind his jock persona, and that role had certain requirements. He was part of the gang, and it was more or less expected that he would also harass Eric and others like him: the undesirables in the school; the geeks, fatboys, losers and fags that made up the dregs of the social structure in any high school in the country. Nick suppressed the pang of guilt he felt. He wouldn't do anything to call attention to the fact he was different than Chris Vincent, David Lowe, and Dennis Reel. He wouldn't show the world how he truly felt, because to do so would put him in jeopardy of joining those he felt he was forced to prey upon.

    The ground rushed up at me as the aircraft descended toward the surface. A tremendous shudder shook the plane as the rear landing gear made contact, and the jet engines revved up to maximum reverse thrust at near deafening volume to slow us as we raced down the runway. Another jerk and a gentle vibration indicated the pilot had applied the brakes, slowing the plane even more. As the engines cycled down, the pilot steered us off the runway and onto the taxiway leading to the terminal.
    The flight attendant's voice came over the intercom system. "Let me be the first to welcome you to Oakland International Airport in Oakland, California.
