Just like gay themed stories, there are millions and millions available. How do you choose a good one? You turn to The Tarheel Writer! I'm not about to get into the YouTube Rec biz, but I thought I'd share a few YouTube videos I liked either because they either entertained, amused, inspired or motovated me. I think you will enjoy them too!

What a great speech! Martin Sheen, as President Josiah Bartlet on The West Wing, really gives this religious woman down the country. Just an awesome speech from West Wing writer Aaron Sorkin. This is a must watch!

"Viðrar vel til loftárása" (Icelandic for "it's good weather for airstrikes"; pronounced ['v?ðrar v?l t??l 'l?ftaurausa]) is a song written and recorded by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós for their second studio album Ágætis byrjun. The song appears as the seventh track on the album. It was also released as the B-side of Sigur Rós' debut single "Svefn-g-englar".
The band recorded a music video for the track. Set in 1950s Iceland, it features a football match between two teams of young boys. As one team scores a goal and celebrates, two young boys on the same team begin to kiss. The kiss is eventually broken up by the boys' fathers. All band members appear in cameo in the video: Jón Þór Birgisson is the soccer team coach, Orri Páll Dýrason is the scorekeeper, Georg Hólm is the referee, and Kjartan Sveinsson is one of the spectators. The fetus design from the Ágætis byrjun album cover is shown on a bottle from which one of the boys drinks.
Production for the music video began in the autumn of 2001. A general casting call was held in Reykjavík, which was also the location for principal photography. The video was directed by Icelandic directors Stefán Árni Þorgeirsson and Sigurður Kjartansson. The video won an Icelandic Music Award for "Best Video" in 2002. Music magazine NME ranked the video 9th on their list of "100 Greatest Music Videos".

14 October 2013 - This is a clip taken from the premiere episode of the American television political drama series "The Newsroom" created and principally written by Aaron Sorkin. It premiered on HBO on June 24, 2012. The clip features Jeff Daniels answering the question, "Can you say why America is the greatest country in the world?" with a very thought provoking answer.

13 June 2023 - School Board President Jackie Goldberg calls out and destroys homophobic protesters. She showcases the book titled "The Great Big Book of Families" and gives a heartfelt, powerful speech about the importance of love and showing respect to lgbtq+ individuals.

From "Boston Legal" ... Alan Shore (James Spader) presents his case as to why the man he represents has been scammed out of $40k by a religious organization that intended to "cure" his SSAD ("same sex attraction disorder", aka homosexuality). Brilliant and appropriate for this moment in time.

Spotlight Film - OMG - this so reminds me of my conversation with Donnie! He was straight and I'd fallen in love with him. I finally had "that" conversation, almost 50 years ago, and I haven't seen or talked with him since. He was my first love. Not many days go by without thinking of him. Whoever said that you never forget your first love ... was right.

12-year-old Alfie Andrew receives a STANDING OVATION for "Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga | Auditions | AGT 2023
Twelve-year-old Alfie Andrews from Manchester, England, began singing at only 18 months, inspired by the royal family’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012. Barely able to stand at that age, Alfie attempted to keep his balance while trying to hit the high notes like the singers he saw on TV. When he came home from school, he would immediately start singing and later gained recognition through his singing performances posted on YouTube. Since then, Alfie performs in his hometown as well as at charity events, weddings, birthdays and festivals. In 2022, Alfie auditioned on “The Voice Kids UK.” Although he did not make it through, the experience gave Alfie more confidence and determination to do what he loves most - sing and perform. Following his performance on “America’s Got Talent,” Alfie dreams of having a successful singing career and having a sold-out world tour.

Carson Peters and Iron Mountain has quickly become one of the most energetic and hottest bands in the business, making numerous trips to The Grand Ole Opry and multiple international appearances. Their traditional bluegrass style and acappela arrangements are a refreshing reminder that the bluegrass of old is alive and well. The band is made up of Carson and Jamie Peters, a father and son duo from Piney Flats, TV, along woith another father and son duo in Ben and Eric Marshall from Mount Airy, NC, Austin Tate from Marion, VA and James McDowell from Hendersonville, NC.

Britain's Got Talent 2023 RUNNER-UP Cillian O'Connor - All Performances!
Cillian O’Connor is an Irish Magician who placed third in Series 16 of Britain's Got Talent. He was aged 13 and was a schoolboy at the time of his audition.
Before his audition, O'Connor stated that when he grew up he wanted to be a magician, before explaining that he liked magic as it were all about making people smile and believe. He also stated that his magic had managed to support him with the improvement of his social skills due to the fact that he had difficulty with them as he lived with autism.

Sometimes you get something from someone you never expected to receive. Such is the gift of "Gee I'm Glad It's Raining." This is from the movie "Ernest Goes To Camp" released back in 1987. Jim Varney himself sang the song "Gee I'm Glad It's Raining" in a single take. Reportedly, when he finished performing the song, there wasn't a single dry eye on set. I'm posting this to let you know that you are not alone in your sadness.

The Hunt for Red October - Red October Vs Konovalov - The Hunt for Red October is a 1990 American espionage thriller film produced by Mace Neufeld, directed by John McTiernan, that stars Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, James Earl Jones, and Sam Neill. The film is based on Tom Clancy's 1984 bestselling novel of the same name.
This is one of my all time favorite films. I love Sean Connery is that!

JonPaul Wallace is a singer/songwriter from Detroit, MI. His style blends current pop and hip/hop sounds with the Motown soul of his hometown. JonPaul’s career got its jumpstart at age 17 when he rewrote the lyrics to Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” and convinced his high school administration to let him sing it at his high school graduation. The video of that performance went viral and accumulated more than 20 million views across all platforms. Since then, he has been releasing singles and building his live and online audience.

Miles Heizer co-stars in this short film about a hero known as Red Thunder, who is actually the girl's mother, who Miles is dating. She's a Podiatrist known as Red Thurder, who, along with her Red Cadilac, captures the bad guys asnd saves victims. At the age of 19, Heizer came out as part of the LGBT community.

Mason Ramsey - Reasons To Come Home [Official Music Video]
On June 30, 2023, Ramsey released the single "Reasons to Come Home", his first new music release in nearly four years.
In March 2018, 11-year-old Mason Ramsey, from Golconda, Illinois, was seen on camera singing "Lovesick Blues" in a Walmart store in Harrisburg, Illinois. Within a few days, videos of his performance collectively garnered over 25 million views and he became a viral sensation and internet meme. Ramsey's performance sparked new interest in Hank Williams' 70-year-old recording of the song and in March Rolling Stone reported that Spotify's Viral 50 chart for the U.S. ranked Williams' "Lovesick Blues" at number three, and number four around the globe.
