A note from Chris James
Perhaps those of you who have read Exit Hollywood will recognize the name of this story. It was the title of the film in which the character Mark Harrison first made his screen debut. I gave you no details at the time but that seems to have been a strategic move on my part because this story goes far beyond what I originally envisioned.
A coming of age story set in the past century, I thought to create a tale of life's changes through the eyes of a young city boy. My character thinks by the time he has reached manhood that he has discovered all the challenges life could throw at him, but he is wrong. There is so much we don't care to learn until it becomes a requirement for survival, and then all it takes is courage and maybe a little help. Sometimes that comes from family and friends, and sometimes it comes from the oddest of acquaintances as it does in this case.
As always, I must tell you that this is a story of fiction. Unless you recognize the names of the real personalities I have included these characters are fictional as are some of the events I have presented. In this story the historical timeline is elastic enough to facilitate the plot.
